Guerlain by Emilio Pucci: Meteorites in Perles D' Azur - Illuminating Powder Pure Radiance

Or in short, the Guerlain Meteorites.

I really should have blogged about this way back before summer as this is a limited edition and I do not think there is any more official stock in this world. I am sure there are ways to search for it if one really wants to buy though, because I have hunted a number of limited editions online.

This, however, was bought locally, on first minute. A number of Guerlain SAs were haunted by a girl who kept asking them for release dates.

I want to praise the DFS Galleria lady who called me immediately when this arrived, and I went down same day to pick it up. Thank you so much! I have met my fair share of SAs who promise to call but NEVER do.

Guerlain by Emilio Pucci: Meteorites in Perles D' Azur - Illuminating Powder Pure Radiance

I would like to talk about this in a more story-narrating manner because I love this, and don't want to be so formal with it.

I first got to know about this magic balls from My Women Stuff, where Paris B has not one, not two, but more than a handful of posts on the many meteorites by Guerlain. And the review of Perles D' Azur by Emilio Pucci is here. That really speaks volume about this unique product Guerlain has.

And so, I was already aiming at one of these tins of pearls, when all of a sudden, I saw press releases of this blue tins with alluring teal balls amongst some orangey summer tone balls.

(I had tried the two permanent ones that are called Teint Beige and Teint Rose, but I didn't like them because both looks too fair for me.)

Can you imagine the delight when your calls seem to be answered by the divine, and something that looks like it's tailored made for you and just you, drops down from the sky?

My immediate reaction was: To catch it of course!

So tadaa! Here is Perles D' Azur by Emilio Pucci. Specially made to suit the tones of women during summer, a combination between azure sea and tanned glowing skin.

This is the ingredients list. First ingredient is talc. It is mica-free, for those who are sensitive like myself.

And this is the barcode side of the box and other details, like Made in France.

Ah, love the hold of that tin. Such a beautiful jewel tone blue. Definitely something special, and something to get if you're a collector of Guerlain Meteorites.

That's what it looks like when you flip open the cover. There is the cover at the left bottom corner, and the white clean sponge on top.

For the amount of time I have been using this, that's the colours that have rolled onto the underside of my sponge.

And there is the real magic balls in the tin.

I know it does not look very nice, and you know me - no photoshopped photos on my blog. But I have used it well and used it good since June 30, 2012 (the date I emailed Paris B to thank her for such a great recommendation). It has been a wonderful two months!

Along the way, my magic balls did get ground and squashed. Somehow, one would drop out now and then, I would pick it up, squirt some brush cleaner, and wipe it down gently. I remember once, I squashed one of them to powder because I squirted too much cleaner, it got soggy and soft... ...

Ah, it's like I've really gotten into a relationship with the meteorites.

I wouldn't go and swatch the colour of each ball here because Paris has got it so pretty in her review. Also, that's not how you use the meteorites.

So here's a brush of it on my arm.

Tell me you can't see a thing! Hehe. =)

That's how the meteorite works!

This is not a highlighter. It is not a theBalm Mary-Lou-Manizer. It is not a M.A.C Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle or Lightscapade or Star Wonder or Light Year.

It is, as it claims, an illuminating powder that gives radiance. In my experience, the Guerlain Meteorite is an overall face powder that is ultra fine. You will see the face radiating light when you turn and that part of the face catches the light. Otherwise, it is so incredibly fine you will not see it.

The reason why I swear by this is because the one day I wore this out over nothing (just BB Cream and tinted lip balm), everybody complimented how radiant and glowing I looked!

It was just amazing when deep down, you know you did nothing at all.

From then on, I almost never forget my meteorites.

There were of course days on which I was in such rush that I only have time for BB cream, and I didn't wear this. But in a number of my FOTDs in these two months, I actually have the meteorites on.

******
Anyhow, that's the whole magical experience. And here comes to the application part.

I bought the Emilio Pucci meteorite brush, which is scratchy, and many have said not to buy it. But at that time, I honestly don't think I have a powder brush that would fit the tin and be good for the meteorite, simply because I don't exactly use powder brushes back then.

This brush is really, really pretty though, with that jewel tone deep blue bristles, the embossment at the bristle-end of the brush handle, the gold words, the streamlined cut, the length that would fit exactly into a lady's hand.

And honestly, I think the bristles are made stiff for a reason. I've tried those synthetic mineral brushes, and it doesn't picks up the powder as well. I think when choosing a brush to dip into this tin, one has to remember that it's a tin of balls, not a tin of HD loose powder.

So it fits exactly nicely into the tin, and I have not change my habit of using the Pucci brush for the meteorites even though I've amassed a number of other powder brushes now.

Nothing really beats having a gorgeous tailored made bag to store a coveted brush. What with Emilio Pucci designed prints and silky soft material to boot!

This photo is brighter because I clicked "enhance" on my Mac iPhoto. Or else, it would be too dark.

The brush fits right into the pouch. And the pouch fits right into little handbags.

Of course, the irony is that the tin of balls doesn't fits into tiny handbags. Lol.

Okay, so my take on Guerlain Meteorites is,

Get it! 5/5!
I waited specially for Perles D' Azur because I know my skin is rather warm, and I didn't like Teint Rose or Teint Beige much when I tested in-store. However, Teint Rose and Teint Beige that are permanent, will more or less suit pretty much everyone. I just think that a warmer toned one with teal bits (Emilio Pucci) is a better fit for me than Teint Beige. Teint Rose is the cooler one.

Also, I am quite sure Guerlain would come out with limited edition meteorites again. So if you're like me, don't find much in Teint Rose or Teint Beige, you could wait for a limited edition one and check it out.

Point to note: This is a bit of an investment. So while I say get it, it is not a must. It's that extra boost, extra perk me. Really that extra to add if possible.
