Academy Awards 2018 nominees predictions - BEST ACTRESS (1st ROUND)

Of course it is too soon to predict the Academy Award nominees since the "Oscar releases" will only come around September/October/November/Christmas, but sometimes early word on some cinematic works and some early releases give me enough factors to have under consideration.
This way and after presenting you my TOP 5 contenders, it's time to present the other contenders I have under serious consideration:

  • #6: Glenn Close for The Wife - One of the greatest actresses alive who never hold that golden statue... Glenn Close is under the radar for her performance in the drama The Wife where she plays a woman who plans to leave her husband. It might be heavy enough in order to get noticed between the "made for Oscar season" projects.
  • #7: Daniela Vega for A Fantastic Woman - She delivers a fantastic (I would say "mesmerizing") performance and it is just fascinating to watch all the humiliations and suffering her Marina was put through. If Chile goes for A Fantastic Woman as their submission for Best Foreign Picture race, it might improve its buzz. The performance is Oscar-worthy and the AMPAS has become less afraid to honour the LGBT topics.
  • #8: Judi Dench for Victoria and Abdul - Reprising the same role isn't a very "Oscary" thing, but Cate Blanchett did it with Elizabeth I of England and got Oscar nominated for those 2 times. And if Blanchett was able of such a cinematic happening, so can be Dame Judi Dench! She's set to play Queen Victoria once again and you know how wonderful she was the last time she did it! She's a living legend.
  • #9: Jessica Chastain for Molly's Game - Aaron Sorkin has been presenting audiences and critics with brilliant screenplays and great characters that turn into great acting roles. In fact, The Social Network, Moneyball and Steve Jobs presented their leads with Oscar noms in acting categories and in the upcoming crime drama Molly's Game he got Jessica Chastain starring (one of the best actresses working today). She has the talent for sure and the trailer looks promising... and she seems to be demanding a third nom (after being snubed for A Most Violent Year, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby and Miss Sloane).
  • #10: Emma Stone for Battle of the Sexes - She's warm from all the love she got for her Oscar-winning performance in La La Land and while I don't feel confident about the movie's potential, I can't deny Stone is such a charming presence on-screen and the AMPAS might easily bite (and the movie is about genre equality). Sometimes they just need to WANT to nominate someone...!
  • #11: Zoe Kazan for The Big Sick - The movie is THAT small production that turned into one of the most acclaimed movies of the year and a box-office success... and Zoe Kazan is a big part of the movie's heart and soul. In fact, her performance is quite charming and one of my personal favorites of the year so far. Not an obvious contender, but given how good she's and all the buzz surrounding The Big Sick, it can happen!
