New In Singapore: Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura - with Monshu

Hooray! It's here in Singapore!

If you're a collector of makeup, this is a must-have, and cannot be missed.

There is a Giveaway at the end!

The Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura collection features a wide array of products all bearing the SULK and Monshu doll prints, just like on the gleaming red pouch I have below.

The pouch comes free with a few other token items with purchase above certain amount.

There is still another rectangular silver pouch but I decided not to purposely buy more for the sake of that. For those who want that silver pouch, you need to purchase a set, that must consist of the Karl Lagerfeld Monshu Eyelash Curler or nail polish together with an eye palette, and something else, I think. You may ask the sales assistants for more details.

But anyway, here is my red pouch, and it's surprisingly high quality, with pattern on the inside that is overlayed with clear plastic, so your makeup don't dirty the inside of the bag.

It's quite huge, and can contain all my purchase and free gifts below, with a lot of space to spare.

Basically, I bought both the palettes, the half lashes, and two of the four Rouge Unlimited.

I don't normally buy special lashes, but this is way too pretty to let go.

There is another red lashes with silver sequins. But that's a full lash, and really looks too dramatic for me, so I passed.

These are the two palettes!

I like how the details are so subtle for this. If you look closely, Monshu with green eyes simply means this palette is the green one. While Monshu with purple eyes indicates the palette is purple. At first, I was still wondering how I can differentiate them by the red and silver background! haha.

The palettes are heavy. Not as heavy as Guerlain Rouge G Extrait and those other bullet-like lipsticks, but really, these palettes are very well made, and have substantial weight.

I also like the detailing on the inside. If you look closely again, the mirror is in the shape of Monshu! It's OMG, I've never seen anything like that before.

I like the signature transparent border that Shu Uemura's eyeshadows have. And they bother to give one sponge-tip applicator, and one double ended tiny brush!

I didn't photograph that brush, but I've tried it, and the bristles are good! This is definitely one good quality palette with thought put in carefully, unlike many of the M.A.C ones. (I am very disappointed to see less than good reviews on Temptalia about the upcoming M.A.C holiday palettes, because they look so good.)

Anyhow, here is the green palette up close.

And here are swatches.

The black is iridescent with mostly silver specks.
The gold is cool-toned, glittery and iridescent.
The silver has a sheen to it and just a bit of iridescent specks.
The pale seafoam green has a sheen to it with silver specks.
The jungle green has gold and silver specks.
The red is cool-toned and pinkish.

Overall, this palette is cool, and I am not sure if I can wear it properly. Of course, both the palettes are very glittery and have heavy sheens, as they are holiday palettes.

Below is the purple palette. This is the warm toned one that I am quite sure I can pull off very nicely. =)

And here are the swatches.

I know you don't see all the glitter on my arm, but I assure you that all of them appear in the exact finish you can see in the palette - very glittery and shiny.

The first colour is a brownish gold with a lot of warm gold specks and some silver specks.
The purple is beautiful, simply a purple with purplish-fuschia specks and some iridescent specks.
The lavender has iridescent specks.
The warm copper-toned brown is easily my favourite, with a goldish sheen, and no glitter!
The brown has warm gold specks and some iridescence.
This red is definitely different from the one in the green palette, just in case you're wondering. This red is definitely more brown with warm gold specks, instead of cool gold.

If you have cool skin tone, this is likely not going to work for you because it's quite the brownish copper type - think Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. If you don't like Naked 1's browns and copper, you will not like this.

And here are the Rouge Unlimited!

To be honest, I was hugely disappointed with these because they are not matte. But I still bought them because Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura is way too good, and really is a must for collectors.

Not that the Rouge Unlimited are not good. But more like, I prefer matte to sheer-toned Revlon Lip Butter-type lipsticks. Of course, if you love the lip butters (which I do actually), you will love these. But I feel I just own too many sheer toned lipsticks right now, and am indeed a bit tired of them.

That said, Rouge Unlimited of Shu Uemura is an extremely good range of lipsticks. I very personally think it beats M.A.C, because of the smoother, more forgiving finish, more moisturising finish.

The Rouge Unlimited Collection is huge, just like M.A.C's, with many types of finishes (think M.A.C Cremesheens, Matte, Lustre, Amplified, etc). Yes, Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited is in the same wavelength. So if you have access to Shu Uemura, I do recommend checking out their lipstick range!

Now, the two from Karl Lagerfeld's collection that I have chosen are pink and beige.

There is still the wine one and the red one. I normally skip red lipsticks. I am interested in the wine one but the SA told me due to shipping issues, it will only come in November.

So that's that. And these are the swatches.

They are definitely true to colour in tube, and absolutely sheer like I mentioned.

I would say, you should skip the lipsticks unless you want to collect the Monshu printed case.

Alright, I have left the best for the last!
